At Great Expectations Day Care, we are trying to offer a positive learning climate for children. A positive learning climate for young children is a composition of many things. It is:

• An environment where children can experiment and try out new ideas without fear of failure.
• An environment that nurtures a love of learning.
• An atmosphere that builds children's self-confidence so they dare to take risks.
• A place where children can receive guidance and encouragement from the responsible adults around them.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide a warm, secure and responsive environment in which children can develop values and self-worth, and grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
We remember what it was like to be a child and the importance of choosing fun, interesting and challenging activities. Through this, children grow into healthy, well-rounded adults.
We also know the significance of developing and participating at one's own pace. Here, children are encouraged to let their own individual characteristics emerge.
We provide the opportunity to form healthy peer relationships and develop creative skills while having fun.

It is the mission of Great Expectations Child Care Center to provide the opportunity to form healthy peer relationships, develop a healthy personality, form values, and develop the conscience, feelings, and attitudes which form the foundation for a positive self-image while having fun. We strive to maintain a model childcare program. As parents of children it is important to know that your children are growing and being nurtured in a safe and friendly environment. It is our goal as caregivers to provide your children with such an environment.

We do believe however, that quality child care is more than a safe place for kids to be while their parents are working, and it is more than a fun place to be. It is one of the few times in a child's day that provides the opportunity to interact positively with children of different ages. It is perhaps the only time in a day that teachers who have the time to give significant one-on-one attention to children are available. We have the unique ability to teach social skills, and to help develop a positive self concept.
